Ferraro Foods Sold to Private Equity Firm Kelso & Company

Ferraro Foods, a specialty distributor serving the Italian and Pizzeria foodservice segment, was sold to private equity firm Kelso & Company.  Ferraro was formerly owned by Kainos Capital.

We expect that the announcement today signals a continuing interest in Ferraro pursuing logical, strategic acquisitions that complement their existing geographic footprint and product selection.  Ferraro, with the assistance of Kainos, has expanded upon its strong presence in the mid-Atlantic by making strategic acquisitions in the northeast as well as south Atlantic region.
