Additional Data Disclosed to Enhance Transparency of PPP Loan Recipients
On June 19, 2020, the Small Business Administration (SBA) and the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced their agreement to disclose additional data regarding the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). The Program sparked many questions including a debate between the balance of transparency of PPP loan recipients versus privacy and protection of businesses. This announcement of enhanced transparency is intended to strike a balance between transparency and privacy.
